Valuable skills and tools to address life's challenges

Who Are We
What participants are saying...
"It challenges me to change the way I see the world."
"This program has awoken in me the confidence in myself and to renew my culture in my family."

"Live out of your imagination, not your history."

We will guide you in the creation of your own life journey to lead a Good Life!

This culturally rich, hands-on, 6 week journey will help you establish the personal leadership skills to make you successful at home, at school and at work. You will learn the roles and responsibilities necessary for building a trusting environment that will help you navigate the ups and downs of life.

THE PROJECT is designed to support the facilitation of an integrated culturally appropriate holistic process honouring and respecting Indigenous values, philosophies, and knowledge systems reflecting personal and family health, wellness, and care practices. Learners will experience social emotional, Land-based Learning as a cultural alignment to mental health wellbeing. This will culminate with the development of essential life skills to be integrated into a “Life Journey Plan” to ensure their successful growth into the community, workforce and/or schooling supported by a network of peers.

UPs HOLISTIC GROWTH JOURNEY will provide the roadmap to engage the mind and provide the foundational skills, and tools to succeed, together, in the global and ever-changing landscape.

  • Way of Living (Culture) - Helping one another and valuing differences while being able to manage conflict in healthy ways are all critical practices to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to create an environment that is culturally safe.

  • Way of Being (Character) –Maturity and restraint are important practices of life that enable people to develop the knowledge and attitude to practice resourcefulness, initiative, vision, priority, and commitment.

  • Way of Knowing (Competence) – creating an empowering center of correct maps from which an individual can effectively solve problems, maximize opportunities, and continually learn to integrate universal principles helps them overcome challenges and obstacles in an upward spiral of growth.

For ALL people, life skills are essential for helping overcome the challenges and obstacles they will face in balancing their many responsibilities. Life skills are woven throughout this Journey for ALL involved and shared in powerful ways, including:

  • Leadership

  • Time management

  • Achieving goals

  • Communication

  • Conflict resolution

  • Responsibility and initiative

  • Health and wellness

Multiple learning approaches will be utilized including:

  • traditional healing and culturally appropriate training and trauma-informed practices through seminar/workshops, feasts, ceremony and celebrations

  • mentorship, guidance and integrated supports

  • process guided learning of numerous culturally meaningful individual and family engagement opportunities

The facilitator-led and coaching supports will guide an effective blended learning experience designed to:

  • Strengthen culture

  • Improve persistence

  • Enhance engagement

  • Increase Indigenous awareness

  • Provide employment and education opportunities within multiple vocations
